Robbie has mooted Callanans for a pre gig pint. Handy to the gig, the english market (spend some queens heads to help keep you boys in Merkals good books) and the venue.

Trainspotters , Happy Busman, Daisy Chain, John agus Sue all in the one night....smoking!
Always remember, there is nothing worth sharing,
Like the love that let us share our name.

Wow, what a gig! Well worth the trip over. The Franks are getting better and better this year and the full acoustic set was simply mind blowingly amazing! Great to see all the message board folk there too including Mr Messageboard himself (Humphrey). Hearing the Franks songs in such an intimate venue in a 'stripped back' acoustic way really highlights the quality of the songs, both musically and lyrically! Freds is right up there with my best EVER Franks gigs!

Set list was:
Memory Lane
Lately
Each tree
Looking for America
Trust in the future
Sweet romance
Little dolls
Berlin
Song for a future love (Xmas song)
Colours
Fashion crisis
After all
Tony Cochrane
That's life
This is not a song
Restraint
Indie love song
Time

Somewhere in the middle Mrs Xavier and We are the F&W were also played so I make that 20 songs!

Bring on the Savoy, it will have to be something very special to claim the award of the best Franks gig of the year!

Oh yeah! My memory is a bit hazy after all that Beamish and Bud and Vodka/lemonades! Top night all round.

Ash- I heard a rumour that there was a recording made via the mixing desk, any truth in this, I'm sure a few of us would love a copy if one exists!

For those of you who enjoyed hearing Memory Lane again as much as I did, check out this video from The Bowery a year or so ago. More appreciative crowd this time, less background chatter last Friday!

What a Gig, What a Night ,What a Band,

I recorded the audio from in front of Rory,s monitor, But with such a small venue and loads of great crown singing, It just sounds more like a amazing sing song than a gig,!!!! 1hour 35 minutes long,

If there was a soundboard recording it would be sweet,I will post up one song tomorrow,

Your right Robbie, It was better than the Bowery, 20 songs acoustic , hard to pick favorites - Mr Xavier & Restraint

but Looking for America is just AMAZING Live, Some one must have some video clips ! Not often We Ash the on Bass
